Rebecca Bonham, MTS
(she/her)
Mental Health Therapy Intern

About Me
Rebecca Bonham is a practicum student at YEG Family Counselling. She is a second-year student in the Master of Psychotherapy and Spirituality (MPS) program at St Stephen’s College in Edmonton. If you are looking for a safe and caring person with whom to explore ideas, ask questions, wrestle with the familiar, investigate the unknown, and to get to know yourself better, she is ready to help.
My Ideal Client
Rebecca works with individuals (16+), couples, and families using Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
She especially loves working with:
Couples in conflict
Those dealing with spiritual or religious trauma, including related to gender, sexuality, purity culture, and perfectionism
Women struggling with relational difficulties
Working with Me
Rebecca has a way of seeing deep into a person very quickly upon meeting them, and her warmth and compassion help her clients feel immediately safe. She uses imagery and metaphor in order to help clients see themselves as separate from their problems. She also uses an integration of thoughts, emotions, and body sensations in order to help clients make meaning out of their in session experiences.
Rebecca's style is slow, purposeful, and warm. Her work in chaplaincy has helped her to be very comfortable working with intense and uncomfortable feelings and leaving space and silence when its needed.
