Mental Health Therapy Intern

About Me
I am a therapy student completing my practicum with YEG Family Counselling. I am doing a bit of a 180 here in changing my area of specialization. For the past 12 years, I have been working with infants, children and their families as an Infant/Child Development Specialist. I am very excited to begin my counselling practice by supporting adults, couples, and families who are experiencing infertility, grief, trauma, loss, and prenatal and postnatal concerns.
My Ideal Client
Sheetal is looking forward to supporting adults, couples, and families. Sheetal especially loves working with:
Individuals and couples impacted by infertility
Clients who have concerns with pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum
Individuals who have been impacted by grief, loss, depression, anxiety and trauma
Working with Me
My mindfulness-based framework offers a compassionate, judgement-free, safe place to explore the concerns which have brought you into therapy. My approach is very individualized as I believe every person has various factors which make their experiences unique.
My style is relaxed, empathetic, and conversational. In sessions, you may expect a collaborative approach, to support you in building the capacity and skills to resolve your concerns. I am also happy to explore online and in-person options.

When I'm not at YEG FC...
When I am not at YEG Family Counselling, I am spending time with my husband and mini Aussiedoodle, Nala. I enjoy cooking and am often in the kitchen trying out new recipes. In the summer, I love checking out the festivals in the city, exploring new walking trails with my family, and spending time with family and friends. Although I love winter weather, I enjoy spending time indoors playing games, reading, and watching movies.
