Mental Health Therapy Intern

About Me
I am a Masters-level Mental Health Therapy Intern here at YEG Family Counselling with over a decade of experience in addiction counselling. I work with individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life, with a special interest in supporting queer and neurospicy (neurodivergent) folks as they discover authenticity, strengthen relationships, and create lives that feel true to who they are, even when facing challenges.
My Ideal Client
I work with individuals (18+), couples, and families, and my practice is inclusive and welcoming to clients from all walks of life. I especially love working with:
Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
Neurodiverse folks (e.g., ADHD, learning disabilities, autism)
Ethically non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships
Sexual addictions and compulsive sexual behaviours
People navigating life transitions and exploring identity; and
Those looking to build healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Working with Me
Whether we meet virtually or in person, I focus on creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and respected, knowing the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. My style is flexible and adapts to what you need. Sometimes we’ll work collaboratively, and other times I’ll offer more direct guidance and practical support. I believe vulnerability is a powerful tool for connection, and together we’ll explore ways it can support your relationship with yourself and the people who matter most.

When I'm not at YEG FC...
When I’m not working at YEG FC, I love taking in Edmonton’s vibrant arts and culture scene, whether it’s live music, local festivals, or new exhibits. I’m a proud music nerd and spend a lot of time discovering new artists and sounds. Fun fact: every year on my birthday, I create a new playlist and spend the year adding songs to it as a kind of personal time capsule. I am also a proud queer Métis person with a learning disability, so obviously life has been a breeze — just kidding. Those challenges have shaped me into someone who deeply values authenticity, compassion, and finding humour even when things get hard.
