I have 20 years of experience as a front line medical social worker. I love working with parents and families and supporting them as they navigate the challenges and complexities of life. I am looking forward to learning, growing and honing my skills as a student with YEG Family Counselling and leaning into supporting diverse populations.

Working with Me
As a Social Worker I'm grounded in The Ecological Model. This means that, in our work together, we'll be talking not only about what's going on for you, but also how things like your environment, your family, your community, and your own personal history might play into both challenges and strengths you're experiencing. Woven into this are the stories that we tell of ourselves and the stories that are told about us. I tend to be less formal in my approach, with focus on building a trusting relationship.

When I'm not at YEG FC...
As the mother of three tween/teens, I am often mistaken for a chauffeur as we hop between soccer pitches, and theater rehearsals. This means that I have perfected sitting in the car while I wait for them, leaving me time for my next favourite hobby which is reading. I love the escapism and the adventure of Fantasy, the window into the past in Historical Fiction, and can't help being swept away by a good Romance. I am an avid baker and love crafting. In the warmer months I love heading towards the North Saskatchewan or a lake for a paddle with friends.
